LUDHIANA: The wait is finally over for more than 2.14 lakh persons who took
Common Admission Test (
CAT). While there were no perfect scorers from the city, as many as 12 students reportedly got between 80 and 90 percentile.
The entrance test is conducted for admissions in 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). It was declared on Wednesday.
While officials had announced that the results would be available by midnight, they were finally declared around 3am.
However, owing to a server problem, the anxious aspirants could log-on to the results page only after 4.15am.
Munish Dewan, director of a coaching institute, said, "Comparing last year's figures, this year 12 students scored between 80 and 90 percentile. Two of our students, Nipun Goyal and Abhiraj Singh, who scored 96.14 percentile, have already received calls from IIFT Delhi and are expecting calls from IIM and IIM Kozhikode."
Of the total of 2.14 lakh candidates who had registered for CAT, only 1.91 lakh students had taken the test.
'Engg students scored well' "CAT results from Ludhiana have remained consistent. Serious candidates seemed to achieve their goal. Many have scored between 80-90 percentile, while a few have even gone as high as 97 percentile," said educationalist Paarth Ashok Narang, adding that students from engineering backgrounds have roped in the highest percentile.
